Congratulations Lucy!

.

At the South Antrim County Overnight from 15th-16th November, Lucy Wallace was presented with her Girlguiding Ulster Award by Girlguiding Ulster Chief Commissioner Brenda Herron and South Antrim County Commissioner Hilary Johnstone.

.

Lucy is currently South Antrim County President and County GO Coordinator, but has held a number of County roles over the years: County Regional Guide Advisor, District Commissioner for Lisburn West, Trainer, County Secretary, County Administrator and Membership Support Coordinator. She was also a leader at 2nd Lisburn Guides for nearly 50 years and is still an Occasional Unit Helper at 2nd Lisburn Brownies.

.

Lucy is a much-loved member of Girlguiding Ulster and is known for her infectious laugh and ability to get things done, as well as her enthusiasm with new leaders, giving them the confidence, advice and encouragement to complete their leadership qualification. She is lots of fun, never missing the County overnight and joining in with all of the activities.

.

Lucy also extends her love for helping others to Lorne. Lucy and her good friend Yvonne have volunteered at the Girlguiding Ulster Shop for nearly 10 years, and she always has the biggest smile while sorting out an order or helping a parent find the right uniform for their daughter. She also volunteers at the Lorne Walk each year, even when it isn’t South Antrim’s turn to organise the event!

.

Lucy is very deserving of this award as her love of guiding shines through as an inspiration for others.
