Faces of the World winners come together at RBHSC
Today the winners and amazingly talented Brownies from our “Faces of the World” competition came together at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children for a wonderful reception. Everyone was eagerly looking for their art work hanging from the ceiling in the main corridor and everyone found theirs in the end. Erin (10) and Isabelle (9) from 2nd Ballymoney told us “We drew a girl with braids and a big smile. If she was a real person we think she would be kind and generous and she could come to our unit meeting. All the faces we saw were very beautiful.” After all this excitement Jenne McDonald, the play therapist at RBHSC, gave a wonderful introduction to what playing and crafting can mean for children being hospitalised. The Brownies even got the chance to decorate their own picture frames while parents, leaders and Girlguiding Ulster staff mingled over a cuppa tea. Before a great afternoon came to an end each girl received a badge and framed copy of their art. Thank you to everyone who made this day so special.
