Girlguiding Ulster at Westminster Abbey
On Saturday, 18 February 2017, 13 members from Girlguiding Ulster (2 Rainbows and Leader, 2 Brownies and Leader, 2 Guides and Leader, 2 Senior Section and their Leader, and Brenda Herron attended the Evensong service at Westminster Abbey with Chief Guide Valerie Le Vaillant to celebrate Thinking Day. They were accompanied by a party of Scouts from London. After the service, a member from each organisation laid a floral wreath on the memorial stones for Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, one to represent Girlguiding, and one to represent The Scout Association.
They were also taken out for dinner by Chief Guide Valerie Le Vaillant and managed to squeeze in a visit to Hamleys before bed. Sunday was spent sight seeing before flying home. It was a fantastic experience and the girls did us proud.
