Girlguiding Ulster have partnered with Northern Ireland Simon Community as part of our social action project. The Simon Community are a local charity who provide accommodation, 24 hour advice service and provide support to clients who have drug and alcohol dependencies.
42% of the Simon Community clients are under the age of 25 years, therefore we believe that Girlguiding Ulster can make a huge difference by donating essential items to help create a better life for these people. The items donated will help to create ‘welcome packs’, which are holdall bags containing basic food and toiletries. These will be given to new people who come to stay with the Simon Community in their accommodation as these people often have little to no belongings.
A list of required items for the packs can be found below and we are asking that members bring their items to their unit meeting week commencing 12th March. Please contact your District Commissioner for further details about collection.
