What is Guiding?
Guiding is about fun, meeting new friends, taking part in enjoyable activities and finding out about the world around you no matter what age you are!
Guiding provides girls and young women with opportunities to reach their potential and take an active and responsible role in the world around them. Girlguiding’s distinctive stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities are delivered by over 2,300 trained volunteer leaders across Northern Ireland.
Guiding is divided into four sections:
Rainbows aged 4-7
Brownies aged 7-10
Guides aged 10-14
Rangers aged 14-18
Each section follows its own specific programme which is tailored to the needs of today’s girl. The programme is up to date and relevant and it allows girls to be challenged and enjoy activities that they may not otherwise get the chance to do eg. abseiling, climbing, bungee trampolining, international opportunities and community service.
