Ice Community Experience 2021
A group of Guides aged 11-13 have successfully completed the International Community Experience (ICE) 2021 programme.
The purpose of ICE is to provide guides from different units with a taste of community action, increase their global awareness and prepare them for future international experiences.
· ICE 1: Virtual event in March.
The girls enjoyed a full day of international themed activities, including meeting a Guide group in Portugal and visiting a World Centre!
· ICE 2: Daytrip to Lorne in July.
The girls took part in a full day of outdoor activities which included making their own woggles, cooking pizzas using carboard ovens and completing international quizzes. The highlight was relaxing in their campsite hammocks and meeting guides from other units.
· ICE 3: Overnight camp at Gosford in October.
The girls completed a range of activity challenges including Paddle Boarding and Raft Building followed by an overnight in hammocks and shelters they created.
Thanks to all the leaders who promoted ICE to girls in their guide units and to the Lorne staff team who supported ICE.
A huge thanks to the international advisors who delivered an action-packed programme for the girls (Wendy Houston, Stephanie Hanna, Pamela Henderson, Elaine Beggs, Kelly Fraziell, Ann McCrea, Jill Crawford and Ashleigh Boyd).
