What is happening with GO:2020 on 20th June 2020?

Unfortunately the current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic has meant that this event has had to be postponed. While this is incredibly disappointing, we are delighted to announce that the new date will be Saturday 6th March 2021. We have had an amazing response to this event and we are hoping that you will still join us on the new date.

Will the name be the same?

Yes! Just like the Olympics are keeping their name we will too.

Will the charge be the same?

Yes! We recently announced that Girlguiding Ulster were going to subsidise the cost of the tickets for all participants to ensure as many girls as possible can come and we will be keeping the cost of the new date exactly the same - £15 per girl and £10 per leader.

What will happen to my GO2020 booking?

All bookings already made for GO:2020 bookings in June will still be valid. We hope you can join us in March 2021.

What will happen next?/ When do I need to make the balance payment?

We know the next few months are going to be uncertain for everyone and that means that it is possible that you won’t know what the situation is with your own unit is until the start of the new term in September. We will email everyone at the beginning of September directly detailing the number you have booked, the amount you have paid and the amount outstanding. You can then come back to us with any changes and the balance payment by 31st October 2020.

Some of my girls will have moved onto the next section or left the organisation in September. What do I do with their place?

If the unit they have moved to are also going to GO:2020 then their place can be transferred and used with their new unit. If not, then please consider inviting them to come along with you – it would be a great opportunity to get together again following an unusually abrupt end to their time in your section. If it is not possible then you can use that place for another participant, for example a girl who couldn’t originally go or any new starts. Failing that, we will issue you for a refund of the deposit payment you have made.

What happens if I need more places than I have already booked?

No problem. You can book extra places when you pay your final balance. If you haven’t booked your unit in at all yet you will be able to do this from September via the website.

The weather might not be as good in March. Will I need to bring a coat?

We choose the Eikon Exhibition Centre for its vast indoor space to ensure we can go ahead with our event regardless of the weather. There will still be some outdoor activities if weather allows so please ask your girls to bring a warm layer and a coat.

Will the activities be the same as have been advertised?

We will be working over the next weeks and months on reorganising the event and this will include liaising with all our suppliers and partners. We hope they will be able to join us in March 2021 as well but until we have had the opportunity to speak to them we won’t know for sure. What we do know is that we will providing amazing activities for all sections and a day to remember – you won’t want to miss it!
