Icing and Dicing - Bake Off v MasterChef

Lorne Estate, Station Road, Craigavad, Holywood, BT18 0BP

This culinary competition event will test cooking skills to the max for Guides and Rangers!

Teams of 6 will compete in a two-sectioned competition to push the boundaries of innovation and imagination.

Section One is the Bake Off portion of our contest, which pits our competitors against the humble Sponge Cake. Creativity is a must in this decorating challenge.

Section Two requires our competitors to think like a MasterChef, and create a romantic meal for two from scratch - with only the use of an open fire or Trangia cooker!

But that’s not all - our competitors are required to complete a series of mystery challenges along the way, so keep on your toes and don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity!

Which team will walk away with the coveted status of Bake Off Masters 2020?!

A full information pack about the event will be sent to participating teams beforehand to provide extra details.

Saturday 2nd May 2020 10:00am - 4:00pm

Registration: 9.45am


Guide/Ranger £10.00 per participant / £60.00 per team

Please note that full payment of £60.00 is required per team to secure booking.

Supplies Required:

Please note that Lorne will only be providing the following:

  • Sponge cake slab
  • Butter cream
  • Fondant icing
  • Fire/Trangia cooking facilities

All other necessary supplies must be brought by the competing teams. This includes cutlery, crockery, decorations, condiments, other ingredients and any additional table settings or decorations you might want to bring!

Leader information

- Leaders must ensure that the relevant Guiding forms are completed and that their individual appropriate ratios are met.
