Join the debate. Cast Your vote!
This year Claire Bailey from the Green Party is sponsoring Girlguiding Ulster’s Parliament event.
To celebrate UK Parliament Week we are taking over Stormont and giving our young members a voice!
The evening will begin with a guided tour of the building followed by light refreshments. We will have a panel of female MLA’s representing the main political parties in Northern Ireland. We have invited some Action For Change members who will explain to us about their social action projects including how they are encouraging more girls towards STEM subjects, reducing plastic and raising awareness of mental health issues among girls and young women. The MLA panel will then have the opportunity to put forward their views on each topic presented from our members and you will have the chance to cast your vote for which party you feel should be appointed this area of responsibility.
We will also have a question and answer session for the MLA’s so come prepared with your eager questions! Our panel is as follows:
Clare Bailey - Green Party
Claire Hanna - SDLP
Pam Cameron - DUP
Rosemary Barton - UUP
Naomi Long - Alliance
Caoimhe Archibald – Sinn Fein
This is a great opportunity to give our members an insight into the world of politics and have the opportunity to cast their votes!
